Mr. Douglas has over 10 years of experience in the area of consumer warranty litigation. During that time, Mr. Douglas’ practice has focused on defending auto manufacturers in business litigation matters. Over the past 10 years, he has tried more than 20 bench and jury trials for Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC, Kia Motors America, Inc. and Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, NA as lead trial counsel. With his extensive experience with warranty litigation in California, Mr. Douglas regularly provides advice to manufacturers and to their field representatives to assure compliance with California law.
Mr. Douglas is a regular presenter at the annual Lemon Law Defense Counsel Seminar, educating other warranty attorneys and in-house personnel on the various nuances of California lemon law.
Prior to joining LVCD, Mr. Douglas worked as a defense attorney in the arenas of medical malpractice, construction defect, wrongful death, and premises liability. These cases often involved complex discovery disputes, extensive law and motion practice, numerous depositions, and settlement negotiations, which prepared him well for the contentious arena of warranty litigation in California. Mr. Douglas graduated from DePaul School of Law in 1999, and has been practicing in California for 20 years.
